Mobile Building Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems across multiple buildings in the Houston area
• Execute major HVAC and plumbing repairs, including work on compressors, coils, and piping
• Conduct electrical work involving conduit, cables, panels, and motors
• Maintain and repair boilers, pumps, air compressors, and water/sewer systems
• Operate and maintain building automation systems and energy management systems
• Inspect facilities regularly to report conditions and ensure safety compliance
• Maintain inventory and follow all safety protocols and building codes
• Participate in emergency response and travel between sites as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4+ years of technical building engineering experience
• Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Valid state driver’s license
• EPA Universal (Section 608) certification for CFC/HFC refrigerants
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions (climbing, stooping, extreme temperatures)
• Proficiency with basic software like Outlook, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a trade school or apprentice program
• Relevant trade licenses (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician, Steam Engineer, or City licenses)
