MLS NEXT Director

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a player development framework aligned with Virginia Velocity standards and MLS NEXT best practices
• Recruit, mentor, and support MLS NEXT coaching staff through education and workshops
• Establish technical standards, operational guidelines, and developmental benchmarks for the program
• Manage roster selection, player evaluations, and team structures across age groups
• Build relationships with college coaches, scouting networks, and professional academies to support player pathways
• Communicate development expectations and club philosophy to players, families, and the community

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of coaching and leadership experience in elite youth soccer
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
• Experience with club management platforms (e.g., TeamSnap, SportsEngine, PlayMetrics)

Preferred Qualifications

• USSF A or B License, UEFA A or B License, or equivalent
• Experience within MLS NEXT or professional academies
• Experience mentoring coaches and leading technical staff
• Familiarity with video analysis, performance tracking, or sports science tools
• Strong network within college soccer or MLS academies
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
