Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee the compliance function and monitoring of adherence to FSRA Rules, FSMR, MIR, and other applicable regulations
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring programmes for exchange and clearing house operations
• Provide independent compliance advice to the Board and senior management
• Conduct regular compliance reviews, testing, and gap analyses
• Liaise with the FSRA on all compliance matters and ensure timely remediation of regulatory findings
• Advise on new market products, trading rules, and participant admission criteria
• Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the AML/CFT/sanctions programme
• Investigate and decide on internal suspicious activity reports (SARs/STRs)
• Develop AML policies, risk assessments, CDD, EDD, and ongoing monitoring procedures
• Act as the key point of contact with the FSRA and other authorities on financial crime matters

Requirements

• 10+ years of senior compliance or financial crime experience within ADGM, DIFC, or regulated financial services
• Strong knowledge of FSRA Rules, FSMR, MIR, and ADGM AML Rulebook
• Understanding of RIE and RCH regulatory obligations
• Experience supporting regulatory authorisations or recognition applications
• Experience engaging with the FSRA or equivalent regulators
• Ability to manage compliance across two distinct regulated entities
• Approved Person status or willingness to seek FSRA regulatory approval

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within market infrastructure, exchange, or clearing house environments
• Practical adoption of AI technologies to enhance compliance or operational effectiveness
• Exposure to virtual asset market infrastructure or crypto exchanges
