ML/AI Founding Engineer

About the Company

Navi captures everything a pilot sees and hears and turns it into automated debrief intelligence. The company's models are already in production and deployed at Embry-Riddle, Purdue, UND, Sling Pilot Academy, and the United States Air Force.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve ML systems for maneuver detection, performance scoring, and safety event identification
• Develop audio intelligence pipelines including speaker diarization, speech-to-text, and cockpit audio separation
• Design AI reasoning layers that synthesize avionics data, audio, and ADS-B into narratives
• Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to improve model accuracy
• Work with pilots and instructors to ground-truth model outputs
• Push boundaries on LLM applications in safety-critical environments

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning, AI, or applied research
• Deep expertise in NLP/speech processing, audio ML, time-series analysis, or multimodal reasoning
• Experience building and deploying end-to-end ML pipelines in production
• Strong engineering fundamentals and infrastructure building skills
• Experience with LLMs including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or RAG
• Ability to work with messy, real-world, noisy data
• High autonomy and ability to ship in fast-moving environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with aviation systems, flight training, or defense technology
• Experience with audio diarization or speaker separation
• Background in safety-critical ML systems
