About the Company

Exa is an applied AI lab building a search engine unlike the world has ever seen. We build massive-scale infra to crawl the entire web, train state-of-the-art embedding models to process it, and design super high performant vector databases to retrieve over it. We power search for Cursor, Cognition, HubSpot, and over 400,000 developers.

Responsibilities

• Train embedding models for perfect search over the web
• Design novel transformer-based search architectures
• Create large-scale datasets and evaluation systems
• Improve internal state-of-the-art search performance
• Work on projects including pre-training hundred billion parameter models and building RLAIF pipelines

Requirements

• Graduate-level ML experience or exceptionally strong undergraduate background
• Ability to code a transformer from scratch in PyTorch
• Experience creating large-scale datasets and deep data analysis
• Passion for solving high-quality knowledge retrieval problems
