ML Engineer, Discovery Applications

About the Company

Mithrl is building the world’s first commercially available AI Co-Scientist. It is a discovery engine that transforms messy biological data into insights in minutes, helping scientists discover biomarkers, identify targets, and design experiments.

Responsibilities

• Build full discovery applications supporting biomarker identification, target discovery, and small molecule design
• Create multi-step reasoning flows integrating ML models, statistical methods, and biological domain logic
• Design application-specific workflows for compound evaluation and program prioritization
• Implement AI systems that orchestrate and chain analyses into coherent applications
• Collaborate with ML, bioinformatics, and data teams to ensure workflow consistency
• Validate scientific correctness and ensure reproducible results

Requirements

• Strong experience in ML, computational biology, or scientific computing
• Deep understanding of the drug discovery and preclinical development cycle
• Experience building analytical workflows for biological or scientific data
• Familiarity with discovery analysis methods like differential expression and pathway analysis
• Proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries
• Ability to convert scientific questions into structured, reproducible workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building LLM-powered agents or multi-agent reasoning systems
• Experience with multi-modal biological data integration
• Experience with computational chemistry tools (docking, ADMET modeling)
• Familiarity with biological ontologies or pathway databases
• Prior experience in a tech bio startup or biotech R&D group
