Mission Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide direct mission support for airborne ISR and space-based operations using ground control systems
• Monitor, administer, and troubleshoot complex GEOINT systems including Linux, Windows, ESXi, Docker, and Puppet
• Perform incident reporting and logistics during troubleshooting and resolution processes
• Support GEOINT post-upgrade efforts in accordance with technical data, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
• Execute pre-mission configuration tasks such as system checks, reboots, and mission readiness testing
• Provide real-time technical support to customers, operators, and end-users
• Work on-site at Beale AFB, CA, following a rotating shift schedule to support 24/7 operations

Requirements

• Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance required prior to start date
• Security+ or higher DoD 8570 certification
• 3 to 6 years of experience within the Air Force DCGS or a similar environment (Air Force AFSC 1D7XX or 1NXXX background desired)
• Proven experience in systems administration and software management within complex technical environments
• Technical proficiency with Linux, Microsoft Windows, ESXi, Docker, and Puppet
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions for complex technical problems
• Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces and eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM field or completion of at least 2 years of accredited coursework
• Experience with military GEOINT domains, including airborne ISR sensors and PED architectures
• Administration of COTS or GOTS software solutions used for GEOINT analysis (e.g., Socet GXP, Xplorer, Unicorn)
• Experience administering VMware/Docker containers and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, OpenStack)
• Familiarity with the Serena (SBM) trouble ticket reporting system
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders
