Mission Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Work with mission engineers to design, create, test, and execute satellite operations procedures, including commissioning and nominal operations
• Investigate anomalies and collaborate with mission operations and engineering teams to resolve them safely
• Participate in commanding activities for our first five operational spacecraft
• Develop tools and processes to help the Mission Operations team maintain high service uptime
• Automate manual processes using scripting and software tools

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. degree in engineering, physics, or a computer science related major
• Experience in scripting with Python
• Basic understanding of satellite systems
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required due to export regulations
• Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing telemetry analysis and anomaly investigations
• Experience building operational software tools and user-friendly UIs
• Experience with software development tools such as Git
