Mine Site Prep Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze client samples using various analytical instrumentation and heavy machinery
• Use equipment to ring, sieve, crush, and split geological samples
• Perform laboratory analysis using XRF, LECO C/S, pH meters, and other specialized tools
• Conduct data entry of sample information and maintain production/analysis logs
• Ensure quality control standards are met and identify/correct analytical data issues
• Perform routine maintenance on sample preparation equipment and analytical instrumentation
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness to prevent sample contamination
• Follow all established safety regulations, SOPs, and quality control procedures

Requirements

• Technical diploma or BSc in chemistry or a related field
• Up to two years of geochemical laboratory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work a 21/21 day shift rotation (12-hour shifts)
• Ability to lift up to 22 kg and perform repetitive technical tasks
• Ability to work in a dusty environment and remain cleanly-shaven for PPE compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with XRF, LECO carbon/sulfur, or sample preparation/layout
• Experience with Geochem or environmental workorder entry
