Mine Manager, Surface Operations

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute mine plans to achieve production targets while optimizing costs
• Lead continuous improvement projects including mine sequencing, haul road design, and maintenance strategy
• Oversee drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations to maximize efficiency
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life
• Champion a zero-harm culture and ensure full compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams of 30+ personnel
• Drive brownfield and greenfield mine development, including permitting and infrastructure
• Lead capital projects such as crusher/conveyor installations and leach pad expansions

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in surface mining operations
• At least 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams (30+ employees)
• Proven track record of delivering operational improvements and cost savings
• Strong knowledge of mine planning, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance
• Experience with mine expansion, greenfield development, and capital project execution
• Demonstrated experience in crushing/conveying systems and leach pad stacking
