Mine Closure Planner

Responsibilities

• Support advisory projects including closure risk assessments, closure governance frameworks, and rehabilitation strategies
• Assist in the preparation of closure documentation, such as mine rehabilitation and closure plans, risk assessments, and cost estimates
• Participate in small, medium, and large closure studies on both national and international scales
• Prepare high-quality reports and undertake data reviews and gap analyses
• Collaborate with technical specialists in environmental, water, geotechnical, and planning teams to integrate closure requirements into mine planning
• Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and regulatory changes affecting mine closure
• Assist in stakeholder engagement processes related to closure and post-mining land use

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in mine planning, rehabilitation, closure, or environmental consulting
• Strong understanding of life-of-mine planning and its intersection with environmental and community outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work and manage time effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and energetic team
