About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the Mind & Memory Care program by overseeing recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of resident care associates.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement care services tailored for residents with cognitive impairment.
- Manage staff scheduling for 24/7 service delivery while monitoring labor hours against the budget.
- Maintain an engaging, homelike environment that supports the physical, social, and psychological well-being of residents.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations for the care team.
- Partner with the Resident Care Director (RN) to ensure service plans are executed and communicated effectively.
- Communicate frequently with families and significant others to support them as caregivers.
- Conduct tours for prospective residents and families and participate in local Alzheimer’s Association partnerships.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a health science related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of memory care experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the dementia disease process and associated functional changes.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, and management skills with the ability to mentor and coach others.
- Completion of CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner), Alzheimer’s Association Habilitation Training, or equivalent within the first six months of hire.
- Ability to complete Benchmark University Faculty Training within the first year of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
