About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain and keep equipment in working order
- Diagnose equipment problems and perform necessary repairs
- Grease and oil equipment to ensure proper function
- Patch and line spouts
- Maintain open belt conveyors, bucket elevators, and drag conveyors
- Utilize power tools, cutting, welding, and fabrication equipment
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Work in confined spaces and unload railcars as needed
- Perform cleaning tasks as required
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude (must pass an online mechanical aptitude test)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime, including call-ins for equipment breakdowns
- Effective reading, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment
