About the role

Responsibilities

  • Move and install complicated machine tools, including heavy presses, boring mills, planers, and lathes, ensuring precise alignment and balancing.
  • Select and specify motors, shafts, pulleys, and belts, and install complicated group counter and line shafts.
  • Perform construction and repair work on equipment such as compressors, conveyors, line shafts, and parts bins.
  • Use care and judgment in planning, moving, rigging, and handling equipment to minimize production interference.
  • Diagnose mechanical troubles quickly to avoid equipment shutdowns and order necessary supplies.
  • Engage in the Honeywell Operating System (HOS), including 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance and repair within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of millwrighting methods and procedures equivalent to 48 months of directly applicable education and/or experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial machinery, and maintenance procedures.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and layouts.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices.
  • Ability to perform sustained physical effort required for moving and installing machine tools.
