Mill Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate a Mill to manufacture or maintain jigs, fixtures, or gages
• Plan and perform complex operations requiring intricate setups and high precision
• Determine appropriate feeds, speeds, tooling, and operation sequences based on blueprints or layouts
• Utilize various precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
• Maintain a workable supply of perishable tools and required operational charts
• Assist with other manufacturing machines as needed

Requirements

• Journeyman machinist status or 6 years of equivalent machining experience
• Extensive knowledge of machine shop practices
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
• Proficiency in reading prints and blueprints
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other machinery such as lathes, manual mills, I.D./O.D. Grinders, or jig grinders
