Midwife

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope midwifery maternity (labor, birth, and postpartum) and gynecology care at the Norwalk clinic and Stamford Hospital
• Facilitate clinical oversight of patients through all phases of pregnancy
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to establish care eligibility for moderate/high risk patients
• Communicate effectively with patients to address questions and concerns
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols for midwife-OBGYN collaboration
• Support resident training on midwifery models of care and low intervention guidelines

Requirements

• Active Licensed Midwife (LM) licensure in Connecticut
• AMCB certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife
• Minimum two years of post-graduate clinical experience in a hospital labor and delivery unit
• Experience in low acuity maternity and GYN care
