Middleware Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and support enterprise platforms including GoAnywhere MFT, AWS MSK (Kafka), IBM MQ, and AWS ElastiCache.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness through failover tests and runbook maintenance.
• Implement and maintain security standards including TLS/mTLS, certificate lifecycle management, and encryption.
• Build and maintain observability through metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Handle production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive service improvements.
• Partner with application, InfoSec, and Networking teams to enable secure data movement and event-driven integration.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in middleware, integration, or platform engineering roles supporting production systems.
• Hands-on administration experience with at least two of the following: Kafka (AWS MSK), GoAnywhere MFT, AWS ElastiCache, or IBM MQ.
• Strong understanding of Linux administration and networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, firewalls).
• Working knowledge of AWS core services including VPC, IAM, EC2, and CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python or Shell.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep expertise in IBM MQ clustering, Kafka partitioning strategies, or GoAnywhere MFT advanced workflows.
• Experience implementing disaster recovery strategies and performing resiliency testing.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps/DevOps or IBM MQ certification.
