Middle School Spanish Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach four sections of Spanish to middle school students
• Co-advise a group of students and act as a Middle School advisor
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum design, assessment, and instruction
• Integrate technology into classroom lessons to enhance learning
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues
• Create an inclusive classroom environment through regular class meetings
• Participate in school community activities, including extra-curriculars and experiential learning

Requirements

• MA or MS in teaching, education, Spanish, or a related field
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish (or strong oral proficiency for non-native speakers)
• Proficiency with internet, email, and educational technology applications
• Ability to teach students of varying proficiency levels from beginner to intermediate

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of effective Spanish teaching experience
• Experience working with middle school-aged students
• Experience in curriculum development or Understanding by Design instructional planning
• Experience leading global trips or extended immersion in a Spanish-speaking country
• Experience with student-centered, project-based, or performance-based assessment
