Middle School Social Studies Teacher

Responsibilities

• Execute engaging learning experiences, interventions, and remediation aligned with college-preparatory standards
• Design rigorous Social Studies lessons that encourage critical thinking about history and civic engagement
• Use data to inform instruction and set individual learning plans for students
• Maintain effective classroom management and a culture of respect and responsibility
• Build trusting relationships with students and their families to support academic success
• Incorporate technology into daily teaching and update PowerSchool weekly
• Collaborate with Instructional Coaches to improve teaching practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensure (or eligibility) in relevant subject areas
• Proven teaching experience, preferably in an urban school setting
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to serve as an advisor to a small group of students
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
