About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach an interdisciplinary, NGSS-aligned curriculum covering Earth systems, cosmos, matter, energy, and molecular systems
- Develop student practices in questioning, modeling, data analysis, and conducting interactive labs
- Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with leadership to respond to trends
- Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
- Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
- Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide community meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
- Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
- Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience working with K-12 students in urban communities
