About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach an interdisciplinary, NGSS-aligned curriculum covering Earth systems, cosmos, matter, energy, and molecular systems
  • Develop student practices in questioning, modeling, data analysis, and conducting interactive labs
  • Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with leadership to respond to trends
  • Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
  • Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
  • Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide community meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
  • Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
  • Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
  • Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience working with K-12 students in urban communities
