About the role
Responsibilities
- Create an environment where students feel empowered to express themselves through song, dance, and drama
- Teach enunciation, projection, acting, singing, and movement
- Collaborate with fellow performing arts teachers to develop network-wide curriculum
- Design, direct, and produce multiple school productions annually
- Manage production elements including costumes, sets, props, lights, and sound
- Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
- Support school culture through morning circles, community meetings, and duty assignments
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years combined experience as a performer, producer, playwright, director, or technical support
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
- Commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools
- Passion for musical theatre including singing, acting, and dancing
