Middle School Parent Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Increase parent involvement by working closely with school, parent, HCZ, and community organizations
• Create a welcoming school environment and serve as a facilitator for community concerns
• Convene regular parent meetings and events regarding key topics of concern
• Assist in the recruitment and enrollment process
• Create periodic newsletters, calendars, and coordinate regular communication with parents
• Organize Back-to-School, Report Card Night, and other parent-focused events
• Coordinate parent workshops and field trips to support skill development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent related work experience
• At least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an urban school setting
• Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to think critically and strategically
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours
• Understanding of the Harlem community is a plus
