About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach foundational middle school math principles including ratio/proportions, expressions/equations, and the number system
- Use in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities
- Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with principals or instructional coaches
- Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
- Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
- Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or related fields
- Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities
- Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
- Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in urban school settings
