Middle School Math Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational middle school math principles including ratio/proportions, expressions/equations, and the number system
• Use in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities
• Motivate students to think critically and solve complex problems
• Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with principals or instructional coaches
• Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families to support learning needs
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or related fields
• Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
• Ability to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements
• Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working with K-12 students in urban communities
