Middle School Math Teacher

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach math curriculum for 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students
• Utilize the Illustrative Math program to deliver instruction, including Algebra 1 for 8th graders
• Set clear learning objectives and provide regular feedback on student progress
• Serve as an advisor to approximately 6 students
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding curriculum and student development
• Collaborate with the middle school team to organize field trips, social events, and clubs
• Participate in school-wide duties including lunch, recess, staff meetings, and committee work
• Lead middle school elective classes and participate in after-school activity programs

Requirements

• Proven experience teaching middle school mathematics
• Ability to teach Algebra 1
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to maintain behavioral boundaries
• Proficiency with current educational technology
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity in instructional practice
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
