About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based math instruction in small intervention groups
  • Provide SETSS instruction in accordance with student IEPs
  • Create instructional lesson plans and classroom activities to engage students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to align math support with core curriculum
  • Write and maintain accurate progress notes in compliance with NYC DOE and CSE requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, annual reviews, and CSE conferences
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding IEP goals and student progress
  • Coordinate with related service providers to ensure cohesive support plans
  • Analyze student work and data to implement high-leverage instructional moves
  • Support student preparation for the NYS State Exam

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Special Education certification (Students with Disabilities, grades 7–12 or K–12) required or in progress
  • Experience writing or implementing IEPs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the USA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Familiarity with NYC DOE SETSS delivery models and CSE processes
  • K-12 lead teaching experience
  • Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools
