About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach an inclusive, culturally responsive ELA curriculum
- Guide students in analyzing literary and non-narrative texts
- Facilitate student-led discourse and writing in various genres
- Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with leadership
- Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Participate in professional development, mentorship, and coaching
- Collaborate with grade level teams to develop academic goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Demonstrated commitment to student social-emotional and academic development
- Ability to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements
- Interest in impacting K-12 students in urban communities
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in urban schools and communities
