Middle School ELA Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach an inclusive, culturally responsive curriculum to empower students
• Guide students in analyzing literary texts and writing in various genres
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment
• Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with instructional coaches
• Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
• Build positive relationships with students and partner with families
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and school-wide meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
• Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban communities
• Ability to pass state teacher certification tests (MTELs) within the first year of employment
• Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working with K-12 students in urban schools
• Existing MA educator's license
