Middle School ELA Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach an inclusive, culturally responsive ELA curriculum
• Guide students in analyzing literary and non-narrative texts
• Facilitate student-led discourse and writing in various genres
• Analyze student work samples and assessments weekly with leadership
• Implement differentiated instruction strategies for all learners
• Build positive relationships with students and families
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and coaching

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
• Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban communities
• Ability to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements
• Commitment to supporting students' social-emotional and academic development

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in urban school settings
