Middle Office Operations Associate

Responsibilities

• Support daily trading operations, including derivative and cross-asset trading, collateral management, and cash management activities.
• Ensure efficient and timely securities clearing, settlement, and reconciliation processes across multiple custodians.
• Monitor trading workflows to enhance operational efficiency and minimize risk or errors.
• Ensure all trades are accurately recorded in relevant systems and promptly address any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, and back-office teams to align trading strategies and processes.
• Conduct regular reviews of trading systems and procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flows and liquidity requirements to support ongoing trading activities.
• Develop and implement best practices for accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of trading activities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in the brokerage and/or financial advisory industries.
• Solid working knowledge of derivatives, fixed income products, and securities clearing and settlement.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles related to trading and financial transactions.
• High degree of accuracy and thoroughness when handling large volumes of financial data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with custodial and fund accounting partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or relevant certification such as CFA or CPA.
• Experience with trading platforms, order management systems (OMS), and post-trade processing.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to trading activities.
• Experience working in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment.
