Midday Meals Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Undertake direct supervision of pupils in designated areas to ensure safe and orderly conduct
• Support the safe use of play equipment and promote games and activities during breaks
• Supervise pupils in the dining area, including encouraging eating and assisting with food/trays
• Assist with daily decisions regarding pupil use of areas, such as during wet lunchtimes
• Deal with minor incidents and provide first aid where appropriate, referring serious matters to the Senior Lunchtime Coordinator
• Maintain cleanliness by clearing up spillages or debris in dining and play areas to ensure safety

Requirements

• Experience supervising pupils (individuals or groups) in a relevant age setting
• Understanding of the educational, social, and welfare needs of pupils during midday breaks
• Good spoken and written English
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to encourage and inspire young people
• Ability to liaise with parents and carers professionally while respecting confidentiality
