Mid-level Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of designs for assigned structures, including research, system selection, analysis, and drawing preparation for electrical substations and transmission lines.
• Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
• Incorporate requirements from EPC contracts, RFPs, and professional service agreements to ensure project goals are met.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners, including cross-discipline teams, construction crews, vendors, and owners.
• Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Utilize engineering application software to complete tasks such as foundation and steel structure design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year program.
• Eligibility to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in structural design engineering within the Power or Industrial industry.
• Proficiency with engineering software such as LPILE, MathCAD, SAP2000, Risa3D, MFAD, Shaft, or spMats.
• Working knowledge of industry standards including AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, ASCE 7, and IBC.
