Mid-Level Structural Designer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures
• Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create detailed plans, drawings, and technical details
• Coordinate with design group team members to review and exchange critical project information
• Check designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements prior to submission
• Assist in the development of department standards and design tools
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced designers and engineers
• Resolve design issues effectively in coordination with responsible engineers

Requirements

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• 10+ years of structural design experience, specifically using Tekla
• Proven ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents
• Strong leadership skills with the confidence to monitor and support peers
• Proficiency in basic computer operating systems, spreadsheets, and word processing programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with clients and vendors
