Mid-Level Engineering Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistical techniques and predictive modeling to develop predictive maintenance strategies and optimize aircraft performance
• Utilize natural language processing (NLP), data cleansing, and preprocessing techniques to ensure data quality
• Apply modern RAG techniques to generate domain-specific insights from complex customer data
• Implement and deploy machine learning models into production systems in collaboration with software engineering teams
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to incorporate engineering domain knowledge into data analysis and modeling
• Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports and visualizations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
• 2+ years of experience in Python for data science applications
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in a technical field
• 5+ years of related work experience
• 2+ years of experience in natural language processing and SQL
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow
• Experience with generative AI models, including LLMs and RAG
• Engineering domain knowledge relating to aircraft maintenance, design, or testing
• Experience working in an agile software development team
