Microsoft Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain DLP policies within Microsoft 365 and related security services
• Configure and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities including DLP policies, sensitivity labels, and data classification
• Protect sensitive data across structured data sources such as SQL databases and data platforms
• Partner with database, cloud, and application teams to ensure data is properly classified and protected
• Monitor DLP alerts, investigate incidents, and support response and remediation efforts
• Support security compliance and audit activities aligned with federal requirements
• Create and maintain security documentation, procedures, and standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Microsoft Security ecosystem
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security features and Microsoft Purview or Sentinel
• Knowledge of SQL or database environments related to data security
• Understanding of data protection principles and access controls
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to work onsite in Beltsville, MD

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing DLP or Purview in government or cleared environments
• Background in database administration or data engineering with a security focus
• Familiarity with NIST or other security compliance frameworks
• Microsoft security certifications such as SC-400, SC-200, or Azure Security
