Microbiology Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental monitoring sampling in manufacturing and cleanroom areas, including viable and non-viable monitoring
• Collect microbiological samples from personnel, surfaces, air, compressed gas, and water according to approved procedures
• Conduct routine microbiological testing, including bioburden, sterility support, endotoxin, and microbial limits
• Manage microbiological and sterility testing samples, including receiving, labeling, logging, and tracking
• Coordinate with external laboratories and supply chain teams for third-party testing and sample submission
• Analyze, document, and report microbiological and environmental monitoring results in approved forms and spreadsheets
• Escalate OOS, OOT, contamination events, and deviations to management and Quality Assurance
• Support investigations related to deviations, contamination events, and EM excursions
• Maintain inventory of microbiology supplies, media, reagents, and laboratory materials
• Follow GMP, GLP, GDP, and all applicable safety and contamination control procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, cleanroom, medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment
• Knowledge of GMP or GLP standards
• Ability to follow strict SOPs and documentation procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• College diploma or certificate in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related field
• Prior microbiology laboratory experience
• Experience with aseptic technique and environmental monitoring
• Experience with sample handling and GMP documentation
