Microbiology Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Carry out allocated testing precisely in line with documented methods and procedures
• Complete daily QC checks and equipment calibrations to maintain laboratory standards
• Deliver testing within required turnaround times to meet customer expectations
• Escalate issues or uncertainties impacting testing to the Shift Supervisor promptly
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, quality, and health and safety

Requirements

• A Level (or equivalent) in a science subject, or relevant hands-on laboratory experience
• Confident IT skills, including experience with LIMS for data entry and recording
• Working understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9001 or ISO 17025
• Familiarity with COSHH regulations
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced setting
