Microbiology Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience performing microbiology testing to support the production of life-changing medicines
• Prepare and analyse laboratory samples while learning to record and interpret results
• Follow safe working practices to protect yourself, others, and the environment
• Help maintain laboratory equipment and contribute to a safe, efficient working environment
• Document work clearly and follow established laboratory procedures
• Work closely with team members while building confidence to complete tasks independently
• Participate in training and apply learning both in the lab and during academic studies

Requirements

• Leaving Certificate with a minimum of 250 CAO points (including Maths and a Science subject)
• OR a Level 6 Qualification in a related discipline
• OR eligibility to apply as a mature student
• Strong curiosity about science and a motivation to learn
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time between work and study
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
