Microbiologist II

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses of samples in accordance with USP, EP ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, or other compendia procedures
• Practice aseptic techniques and disinfection per laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Perform sterility tests and assays for antibiotic testing concentrations and potencies
• Design and execute R&D experimental frameworks within cGMP-regulated environments
• Manage quality assurance tasks including lab area monitoring, media qualification, and equipment calibration
• Document data in notebooks and LIMS and manage sample chain of custody
• Mentor and train new microbiologists as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
• Two years of experience in microbiology or a related occupation
• One year of experience using LIMS for sample submittal, record entry, and label generation
• One year of experience reviewing and completing COC discrepancies and client communication
• Six months of experience with laboratory quality assurance tasks and equipment calibration
• Six months of experience conducting analyses per USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, or EPA procedures
