Microbiologist II

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological analyses according to USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, or other compendia procedures
• Prepare media and reagents required for microbiological analyses
• Schedule analyses to meet completion deadlines
• Practice aseptic techniques and disinfection per laboratory SOPs
• Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping in notebooks and LIMS
• Perform quality assurance tasks including lab area monitoring, media qualification, and equipment calibration
• Mentor and train new microbiologists
• Document all activities in accordance with cGMP

Requirements

• BS degree in Microbiology or related sciences
• 2-4+ years of experience in a regulated commercial lab environment
• Thorough knowledge of scientific principles
