About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical advice to delegations and field teams to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of MHPSS programmes.
- Support the implementation of global and regional MHPSS priorities, ensuring alignment with ICRC frameworks and quality-of-care principles.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of technical guidance, tools, and monitoring approaches.
- Promote the integration of MHPSS across various ICRC responses, including Health and Protection activities.
- Provide technical expertise and capacity building on specialized mental health care, referral pathways, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Offer coaching, mentoring, and technical support to field teams through training and learning initiatives.
- Represent the MHPSS métier in global discussions, technical forums, and coordination platforms.
Requirements
- Degree in Psychiatry or Clinical Psychology.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of clinical experience.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of international humanitarian experience working directly in the field.
- Proven training or experience in MHPSS within a humanitarian context.
- Valid professional license to practice in your country of origin or residence.
- Fluency in verbal and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Training in public health.
- Familiarity with results-based management or logical framework tools.
- Proficiency in French or other ICRC languages (Arabic, Spanish, or Russian).
- Experience with psychiatry in detention or prison settings.
- Previous ICRC field experience.
- Understanding of community public health psychiatry with multidisciplinary teams.
