MFM Ultrasound Tech

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operate related equipment with competency
• Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper file identification
• Greet patients, obtain medical history, and enter information into the computer system
• Maintain clinical aspects of the ultrasonography suite, including cleanliness and stocking supplies
• Utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination during procedures
• Maintain quality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Review examinations for technical accuracy and communicate pertinent data to radiologists
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure safety and understanding
• Assist in the completion of the American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation process

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited course in ultrasonography
• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification
• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Baccalaureate degree in radiography or sonography
• Experience as a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Technologist
• 2+ years of experience in ultrasonography
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff
• Proficiency in using departmental computerized systems
