MFM Sonographer

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary reports for physician review and signature
• Review studies with physicians
• Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
• Code appropriate services performed
• Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and recognize malfunctions
• Maintain laundry for examination rooms and manage ultrasound supply inventory
• Follow accredited laboratory protocols for 2D images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent
• ARDMS OB/GYN certified or eligible
• Fetal echo certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire
• Completion of a program containing OB/GYN ultrasonography
• CPR certification required
• Minimum of two years in Allied Health Educational Program and one year on-the-job training, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program
• Ability to provide evidence of continuing education credits
