About the role
Responsibilities
- Create preliminary reports for physician review and signature
- Review studies with physicians
- Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
- Code appropriate services performed
- Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and recognize malfunctions
- Maintain laundry for examination rooms and manage ultrasound supply inventory
- Follow accredited laboratory protocols for 2D images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent
- ARDMS OB/GYN certified or eligible
- Fetal echo certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Completion of a program containing OB/GYN ultrasonography
- CPR certification required
- Minimum of two years in Allied Health Educational Program and one year on-the-job training, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program
- Ability to provide evidence of continuing education credits
