About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform high-accuracy laser scanning of SPARC components to support production build-out and metrology engineering analysis
- Operate CMM equipment and run inspection programs for special requests and receiving inspections
- Document inspection results clearly and consistently to enable engineering validation and troubleshooting
- Support daily calibration checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting for metrology equipment including laser scanners and portable CMM arms
- Maintain a safe, organized, and audit-ready quality lab by supporting 5S standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Exposure to advanced metrology methods such as laser scanning or CMM inspection
- Strong foundation in mechanical inspection fundamentals, including reading drawings and using precision measurement tools
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as standing or sitting for extended periods
- Ability to work second shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fabrication processes such as machining, molding, casting, or welding
- CAD experience including modeling, drafting, or interpreting models to support inspection
- Familiarity with basic data analysis and statistics (e.g., gage R&R, SPC, DOE)
- Experience operating specific portable measurement arms like Romer or FARO
