About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-accuracy laser scanning of SPARC components to support production build-out and metrology engineering analysis
  • Operate CMM equipment and run inspection programs for special requests and receiving inspections
  • Document inspection results clearly and consistently
  • Support daily calibration checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting for metrology equipment including laser scanners and portable CMM arms
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and audit-ready quality lab by supporting 5S standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Exposure to advanced metrology methods such as laser scanning or CMM inspection
  • Strong foundation in mechanical inspection fundamentals, including reading drawings and using precision measurement tools
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a facility containing industrial hazards (heat, noise, high voltage, etc.)
  • Willingness to work weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fabrication processes such as machining, molding, casting, or welding
  • CAD experience including modeling, drafting, or interpreting models
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis and statistics (e.g., gage R&R, SPC, DOE)
  • Experience operating specific portable measurement arms like Romer or FARO
