Metrology Inspection Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming dimensional inspection of mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials using calibrated metrology equipment
• Verify compliance against engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CTQ/SC/CC characteristics
• Execute inspections according to established inspection plans, control plans, and sampling rules
• Identify, segregate, and label non-conforming materials to prevent release to production
• Use and maintain metrology equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM
• Record inspection results accurately in SAP, MES, or other quality systems to maintain full traceability
• Prepare and manage inspection records, measurement reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
• Escalate non-conformities to Quality Leads, Manufacturing Engineering, and Procurement teams
• Support Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities and internal/external quality audits

Requirements

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Metrology, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in incoming inspection or metrology
• Proven experience in aerospace, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing environments
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM
• Experience with propulsion, engines, or rotating equipment is a strong advantage
