About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine advanced mechanical inspection techniques to solve complex measurement challenges
- Qualify and document inspection methods, including procedures, work instructions, and evidence of capability
- Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to support production readiness and rapid issue resolution
- Support the evaluation and selection of new metrology equipment and technologies
- Maintain metrology equipment and standards, including calibration and verification activities
- Provide design-for-inspection input during drawing release and GD&T definition
- Design and procure inspection fixturing and tooling to enable accurate, repeatable measurements
- Summarize and present critical dimensional inspection results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or field environment
- Demonstrated experience developing advanced metrology and inspection techniques
- Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and apply GD&T
- Experience with CMM programming (ZEISS Calypso preferred)
- Experience using portable metrology equipment (e.g., Creaform, laser tracker, CMM arm)
- CAD design experience (Siemens NX preferred)
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work the third shift (Monday through Friday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am)
Preferred Qualifications
- PolyWorks Inspector experience
- Familiarity with statistical quality tools such as gage R&R or DOE
- Quality experience in a regulated industry like aerospace or medical
- Experience creating and implementing training materials and work instructions
- Working knowledge of ERP and MES systems
