About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify advanced mechanical inspection techniques for complex hardware for the SPARC project
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure design requirements are met
  • Assist in evaluating new investments in advanced metrology equipment
  • Maintain metrology equipment and perform 5S activities
  • Provide design for inspection input during the development of engineering drawings and standards
  • Design and procure fixturing to support inspection processes
  • Summarize and present results of critical dimensional inspections

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or field environment
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex mechanical drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with CMM programming (Zeiss Calypso preferred)
  • Experience using portable metrology equipment such as Creaform, Laser Tracker, or CMM Arm
  • CAD design experience (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in an industrial facility with various hazards (heat, noise, high voltage, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Polyworks Inspector Software
  • Knowledge of basic statistical tools such as gage R&R and DOE
  • Quality experience in a regulated industry like aerospace or medical
  • Working knowledge of ERP and MES systems
  • Experience implementing procedures and work instructions
