Metrologist

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced metrology equipment, including laser trackers, arms, and projectors
• Perform alignment tasks, including part location and establishing reference systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex measurement-related issues and equipment challenges
• Prepare detailed reports for engineering review regarding results and data accuracy
• Support vehicle integration of manufactured assemblies and manufacturing tooling setup
• Validate reference systems and perform drift checks to ensure tooling and tracker stability
• Collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturing processes and resolve discrepancies in work instructions

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related experience in metrology or manufacturing
• Proficiency in using advanced metrology equipment (trackers, arms, projectors, or CMMs)
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and coordinate systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and engineering specifications
• Experience troubleshooting metrology equipment and resolving measurement challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in GD&T, CMM programming, or Laser Tracker operation
• Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD
• Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments
• Experience with vehicle-level integration
• Background in aerospace startups, R&D, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Lean/continuous improvement certifications (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
