Meteorologist

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts in a multi-platform environment
• Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary
• Produce clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story
• Write and report from the field or inside the newsroom
• Update the website and interact with viewers on social media platforms daily
• Perform special projects, make public appearances, and fill in on other shifts as needed

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience, or Atmospheric Science
• 3-5 years of on-air meteorology experience
• Proficiency in posting content to various websites and social media platforms
• Computer literacy, including experience with weather and newsroom computer systems
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle
